An opportunity to make the bathroom their own.
Some bathroom remodels get started because a homeowner has a vision for something new. Other times, an unexpected situation creates an opportunity to rethink a space entirely.
When our clients contacted CSL Construction, portions of their primary bathroom had already been removed by another contractor. Since the bathroom needed to be rebuilt, they decided they didn't want to simply put everything back the way it was. They wanted to use the opportunity to create something better.
Their vision was a warmer, more modern primary bathroom with a custom, higher-end feel. At the same time, they wanted to be smart about where they invested their remodeling budget rather than simply choosing the most expensive option for every finish.
A freestanding tub set the direction.
One of the biggest things they wanted to change was the existing built-in soaking tub. It took up a significant amount of visual space and contributed to the dated feel of the bathroom. Our clients wanted to replace it with a freestanding tub and floor-mounted tub filler that would create a cleaner, more open look.
Making that change required more than simply swapping one tub for another. Plumbing needed to be modified to accommodate the new configuration and fixtures, while the surrounding finishes had to be planned around the new design.
Throughout the bathroom, we installed new wall and floor tile, modern light-wood vanities, updated plumbing and lighting fixtures, and custom frameless shower glass. The combination of warmer materials, cleaner lines, and carefully selected finishes gave the space the more refined look our clients were after.
Investing where it made the difference.
The most interesting part of the Calle project was where the homeowners chose to invest.
Creating a custom bathroom doesn't necessarily mean selecting the most expensive material in every category. Thoughtful design, good planning, quality construction, and knowing which features will have the greatest impact can completely change how a finished space looks and feels.
For Calle, the freestanding tub, floor-mounted faucet, tile selections, modern vanities, and frameless glass became some of those defining elements. Other selections could remain more practical without taking away from the overall design.
The result is a primary bathroom that feels warm, modern, custom, and elevated—while keeping the overall investment focused on the features that mattered most to the homeowners.
For us, that's what good remodeling is about: not simply spending more, but making smart decisions about where to invest so the finished space looks, feels, and functions the way it should for your individual needs.
